Lift Lobby Mural

Artists Concept

In essence, the concept for this Mural is an intensely articulated, graphic expression of the ‘ anonymous crowd’ as it hurries purposefully through the lobbies and into the lifts, as observed on a purely physical plane. On the deeper level, however, the design is intended to act as a metaphor for the concept of * upwardly mobile’ as it refers to the lifts at the Entrance to the offices above and therefore to the business activities of those who use them. The Mural will ‘ float’ mysteriously on the end of the wall of the lobby, a visual metaphor for the ceaseless activity of the lifts within.

This Mural will occupy the entire glass screen wall to the Lincraft shop area, beside the Downstairs Lifts, covering approximately 6m X 2.4 m. total area.

Each panel of the mural has hundreds of individually hand-drawn images which were scanned and processed into one design, each carefully pre-designed to interact with one another.

Please see below the final assembled design for each of the 5 copper panels used in the Lift Lobby mural.
