Memorial To commemorate Australia's First Naval battle

Project Background

 

To commemorate Australia's First Naval battle which was between the HMAS Sydney and SMS Emden occured in the waters surrounding the Cocos Keeling Islands on the 9th of Nov 1914. Sydney Embden 100 commemorated the Centenery of ' The battle of Cocos '. The dedication of the Sydney Embden Friendship Mast was the centerpiece of a weekend of celebrations in honour of the centenery.
