Dedication:
The Swansea RSL Rising Sun Anzac 100th Memorial was dedicated on 25th April 2015


The Opening of the new World War 1 ‘Rising Sun’ monument Took place on ANZAC DAY 25th April with a dawn service at 5.30am the Swansea RSL Club. At sunrise, surf boats approach to ‘Anzac Cove Beach’ and landing by ‘troops’.

Dedication of the memorial by Reverend Clive Gerard, Father Mackie  and Major Colin Robinson.

Opening of the new memorial by DVA representative Member for Shortland, Jill Hall and State Member for Swansea.

Description:


The memorial sculpture is a stylized interpretation of the Australia Defence Forces’ Rising Sun insignia' badge.


The sculpture is geographically positioned so that the rays of the rising sun shine directly through the arch at dawn on Anzac Day.
